The Bruins: Best Pitching Rotation in the NCAA

Trevor Bauer 2011 MLB Scouting Report
With Trevor Bauer and Gerrit Cole at the mound, UCLA should have no problem defeating their competition and advancing to the Super Regionals. Cole, the probable # 1 pick in this year's draft had a shaky start tonight int he first regional game against USF. His pitching was fine, but with no offensive production, the Bruins had no way to win and ended up losing 3-0 to the Dons. Tomorrow, Trevor Bauer, who some compare to Tim Lincecum, will tale the mound against UC Irvine. With this deadly one two punch of Cole and Bauer, the Bruins will be a tough opponent for many teams eyeing that coveted trip to Omaha.

NBA Draft or NBA Bust?

Since this is my first post, I think it would be appropriate for me to talk about a topic that I love will never stop watching. Don't get me wrong, I love other sports like football and baseball, but I've been playing basketball ever since I was a little kid. In just a few short weeks the 2011 NBA draft will take place. As of right now, it looks like the Cleveland Cavaliers might take Derrick Williams with the first pick, but I have heard rumors that they are looking to get Minnesota's 2nd overall pick, which could land them Kyrie Irving as well. Both players are extremely talented but in my opinion, the only teams that will luck out this year are teams that have picks in the top 10 because this looks like a weak draft. Then again, people said that 2009 was going to be a "weak draft" but now there's a plethora of emerging talent like Serge Ibaka, Stepehen Curry, and Darren Collison, just to name a few. I'd usually be more excited for the draft since my favorite team is almost always guaranteed a lottery pick, but being the idiots they are, they traded it away. Now I was fine with it at first, but when the NBA announced that the pick my Clippers traded to the Cavs was the #1 pick, I was pretty mad. Nonetheless, I'm still excited for the NBA Draft and can't wait until June 23rd!
